Within the Gynecological Endocrinology and Sexual Development Differences clinics, the Sant'Orsola Polyclinic in Bologna offers girls with Rokitansky syndrome a diagnostic assessment, gynecological visits and dedicated psychological support. In the outpatient practice, the vaginal dilator program is proposed as the first therapeutic approach, obtaining excellent results, accompanying the girls in the correct and autonomous use, following the treatment with personalized meetings based on needs. Only in exceptional cases are the girls oriented to the intervention which is performed with the laparoscopic technique according to Davydov. Furthermore, at the center, it is possible to apply to be included in the uterus transplant program within the protocol of the National Transplant Center. The multidisciplinary team composed of gynecologists (affiliated to the Gynecology and Reproductive Physiopathology Clinic) and general surgeons (affiliated to the General Surgery and Transplant Operating Unit) will evaluate the suitability for transplant by performing blood tests, instrumental tests and outpatient visits.

The Transplant Center of the University Hospital of Pisa began its activity in 1972. It is therefore one of the centers with the greatest experience in our country. What you will find in our hospital is the result of systematic action that has allowed us to develop activities of excellence recognized worldwide over the course of many years.
The transplant center has experience in kidney and pancreas transplants using traditional and robotic techniques (minimally invasive surgery).

The University Hospital of Pisa also has an important medically assisted procreation center and an advanced gynecology and obstetrics program with a birth center for high-risk pregnancies.

Currently, evaluations for uterus transplants can be started by a multidisciplinary commission (gynecologist, transplant surgeon, psychiatrist and anesthetist) during which the entire process, the tests necessary to complete the evaluation and the prospects of this transplant will be explained in detail.

The Department of Pediatric Gynecology of the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital in Rome deals with this syndrome, as well as many other malformations of the genital tract, in close collaboration with the other Departments and Services of the Hospital, such as Endocrinology, Radiology, Psychology and Urology.

Patients can thus be followed from diagnosis to treatment in the most appropriate and personalized way. As now required by all the protocols of the main international Scientific Societies, in the clinic the first approach proposed (once the diagnosis has been ascertained) is always the conservative one, and, where possible, the patient and her family are always actively involved in decisions regarding the methods and times of treatment of the pathology.

The center deals with the evaluation, diagnosis and surgical treatment of malformations of the female genital system, that is, a heterogeneous group of pathologies that can affect the external female genitalia, vagina, uterus, and fallopian tubes. The high specialization of the team allows us to treat these pathological conditions with minimally invasive endoscopic techniques and cutting-edge surgical instruments. In our center, personalized paths are planned starting from the moment of diagnosis, to the surgical intervention and the subsequent post-operative follow-up. The surgical intervention aims to create the vaginal canal to allow patients to have a normal social life and is performed with a minimally invasive laparoscopic and perineal procedure; the excellent results and the high number of patients operated on make our center a national and international point of reference for the treatment of Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser Syndrome.
